This review of the OTBT Earthshine is sponsored by OTBT. The opinions are completely our own based on experience. You know me, the girl with super bad feet. What am I doing in an almost 3″ wedge sandal? Well, every now and then I’m invited to an event that requires a slightly dressier shoe than my beloved Birkenstocks. The OTBT Earthshine is the perfect “dressy casual” slide. Here’s why… The metallic leather upper with a unique woven texture adds a touch of glam to the OTBT Earthshine. I loved pairing the Earthshine with my favorite bell-sleeve floral dress (a great TJ Maxx find). The metallic gold extends to the wrapped wedge heel–the more shine the better! What brings the Earthshine back down to earth is its comfort features. The generously cushioned memory foam footbed sits atop a shock-absorbing cork midsole. If you’ve ever experienced the comfort of soft footbed Birkenstocks, imagine a similar feeling in 2.75″ wedge heel (offset by a one inch platform). It’s just lovely. Add a lightweight yet durable EVA outsole and a bit of elastic goring at the instep, and you’ve got a shoe that not only looks pretty but feels great all day/night long. I took a few mental notes as I walked about the fundraiser in the OTBT Earthshine. I was concerned that my medium width foot would slide forward due to the slide styles with no adjustability. What I found is that the wide band hugged my foot comfortably, keeping my toes from sliding over the top of the shoe (a huge pet peeve). A narrow or low volume foot may slip forward too much. I also worried that the stitching from the pattern on the outside of the band would irritate the bunions, but the lining on the underside of the band is smooth. The only area where I feel slight rubbing is at the base of my toes where the band crosses (this is most likely due to hammertoes…boo). It’s not enough to keep me from wearing these gorgeous OTBT slides. I love the versatility of the OTBT Earthshine. I plan on pairing them with jeans (skinnies and wide-leg), shorts, skirts and sundresses. I find the size 10 medium OTBT Earthshine slide to fit my foot perfectly. Keep in mind I’m almost always a size 10 but sometimes a 9.5 (I’m probably a size 9 3/4). If you’re between sizes, you might want to order up. I think this shoe best fits a medium width foot best. Find the OTBT Earthshine in sizes 5.5-11, for $138.95 from OTBTshoes.com, Zappos, Nordstrom, Amazon and Shoes.com. About the Author
